Oil Changes | Butch’s Automotive

Oil Changes & Scheduled Maintenance.

The service that decides whether your vehicle sees 300,000 km, done on a schedule built for how you actually drive.

  • Red Seal certified technicians
  • All makes & models
  • Mon–Sat, 7:30am–6:00pm

When Is It Actually Due?

Maintenance isn’t glamorous, but it’s the difference between smooth cruising and sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow. If you’re going to neglect anything on your vehicle, don’t let it be your fluids.

Our advice is simple: do what’s required, when it’s due. Come see us when:

  • Your oil life monitor is around 20%, don’t wait for 0%
  • You’re coming up on your service interval by distance
  • Your transmission fluid is starting to discolour
  • Your antifreeze isn’t testing well
  • It’s been a year, even if you drive very little
  • You tow, haul, or idle a lot, which shortens every interval

More Than Just an Oil Change

Oil & filter, done right

The correct oil and filter for your vehicle, not whatever’s closest on the shelf.

A real inspection

We check brakes, fluids, tires, belts and lights while it’s here. Small problems get caught while they’re still small.

Full fluid services

Transmission, coolant, differential and transfer case services when they come due.

A schedule that fits your driving

Dealer intervals are often spaced too far apart. We build a plan around how you actually use the vehicle.

Maintenance Is Cheaper Than the Alternative

We’re not spacing it out to sell you an engine

Dealerships benefit when you spend $10,000 to $20,000 on a new engine. We don’t. Our schedules are sometimes half of what dealers recommend, for exactly that reason.

A plan built for your vehicle

Every vehicle we service gets its own plan. More mileage, more years, less downtime, without costing more over the life of the vehicle.

You’ll know what’s coming

We tell you what’s due now and what’s coming up, so nothing lands as a surprise.

Common Questions

How often should I change my oil?
Do your oil changes before they’re due. If your vehicle has an oil life monitor, don’t wait for 0%. Get it done around 20%. If you tow, haul, idle a lot or do mostly short trips, come in sooner. We’ll set an interval that suits your actual driving.
Is factory scheduled maintenance really necessary?
Honestly, sometimes factory-recommended intervals aren’t enough. Dealer-recommended services are often spaced too far apart in kilometres, which causes premature wear. Our schedules are sometimes half of what dealerships recommend, because we don’t want you replacing an engine or transmission.
What happens if I postpone maintenance?
Sometimes a neglected vehicle surprises you and runs fine, but that’s not the norm. Maintenance is far cheaper than any hard repair. Take care of it and you’ll see the vehicle last longer, and you’ll feel confident it won’t let you down.
How can I make my vehicle last 300,000 km?
Maintenance. Don’t neglect your fluids. Oil changes before they’re due, transmission fluid changed when it starts to discolour, antifreeze changed when it stops testing well. Do what’s required, when it’s due. That’s how you get there.
